In Ronald Neame’s Tunes of Glory, the incomparable Alec Guinness inhabits the role of Jock Sinclair’a whiskey-drinking, up-by-the-bootstraps commanding officer of a peacetime Scottish battalion. [2]

Alec Guinness is Lt. Col. Jock Sinclair, a man who temporarily takes over command of a regiment until his replacement, Col. Basil Barrow (John Mills) arrives. [4]
