
The Department of Homeland Security announced today an increase in security measures at the national and international flights after the assassination attempt yesterday.Specifically, the Homeland Security secretary, Janet Napolitano warned that travelers going to move to America from other countries may experience a special increase in security measures.
Janet Napolitano has used the statement to acknowledge the behavior of passengers and crew on that flight, who reacted quickly “ heroic”and “ in an incident that could have had tragic consequences.”
Attorney General of Arizona
In 1991, while he was a member of the private law firm Lewis and Roca LLP Phoenix, Napolitano served as attorney for Anita Hill. Anita Hill told the U.S. Senate that the then Supreme Court nominee U.S. Clarence Thomas had sexually harassed a decade earlier, when she was his subordinate at the federal EEOC.
In 1993, Napolitano was named by President Bill Clinton as U.S. Attorney for the District of Arizona. As U.S. attorney, participated in the investigation of Michael Fortier of Kingman, Arizona, in connection with the Oklahoma City bombing. He ran and won the position of Attorney General of Arizona in 1998. Its mandate is focused on consumer protection issues and the overall improvement of law enforcement.
While still serving as attorney general, who spoke at the 2000 Democratic National Convention just three weeks after having a mastectomy. Napolitano remembers the pain is so bad he could barely stand up, but persevered. “Work and family helped me to focus on other things while he battled cancer,” said Napolitano. “I am very grateful for all the support I had from family, friends and citizens of Arizona.”
Governor of Arizona

The Constitution of Arizona provides two consecutive term limit term of their rulers, that is, Napolitano would have been barred from seeking a third term in 2010.
In January 2006, won the Woodrow Wilson Public Administration. He was a member of the Democratic Governors Association Executive Committee.
