The Council of Agriculture of the City council of the Vila Joiosa in collaboration with the Conselleria of Agriculture of the Valencian Catalan Autonomous Government, organized in the morning of (Wednesday, 3 of February) a meeting in soothes yesterday of the Agricultural Cooperative of the Vila to inform on the activities against long-beaked the red one. The objective of the long-beaked press conference on the red one was “to try tools and knowledge to be able to fight this plague that is affecting the palms of all the Mediterranean”, has explained Jose Maria Béjar, person in charge of the area.
 
The City council vilero, from the Council of Agriculture, summoned to the meeting to the municipalities of the zone (Orcheta, Relleu, Seal…) and to its technicians of Agriculture and Parks and Gardens, to deprived companies, propietary and responsible for greenhouses and breeding grounds, and to all the propietary citizens of palms that also have been themselves affected.
 
Two agricultural technicians of the Conselleria informed to all the attending ones on the long-beaked plague into red (escarabajo) and they concentrated in the process of detection in the starting phase, to be able to fight it with better guarantees.
 
The Councils of Agriculture and Parks and Gardens take from October acting against this plague in the palms of public ownership and have offered the necessary aid for the palms of private property. “Thanks to this meeting all the affected people will have the information necessary to act effectively against long-beaked the red one”, has explained Jose Maria Béjar.
