John Patrick Bedell the Pentagon shooter not a terrorist: Cops

Sander Levin to lead House Ways and Means Committee

Levin, a Michigan Democrat, was discussed as a possible replacement Wednesday shortly after Rangel announced he would step down amid a broad ethics probe. But New York Rep. Pete Stark, the next most senior member of the panel Rangel, emerged as the likely candidate.

Levin can be regarded as a safer choice for the job than Stark.

Rangel, who last week admonished by the ethics committee on corporate funding of the various trips he took to the Caribbean, said Wednesday that he resign to avoid a distraction, but Stark – in the few hours he was considered for the job – all fill that void.

The Republican National Committee blasted an e-mail Thursday morning with a slew of Stark’s controversial comments over the past two decades, called him a “walking YouTube clip. “

For all that, Welch explains, the impetus for the project was serious. She wanted to understand her own foundation, “what my evangelical neighbors were just like people, unfiltered and off the record, not as the subjects of the interviews conducted by the” liberal media. “” The truth, she wrote, her subjects’ needed to know the microphone was off. “

Why, yes! Yes, it is a great day, Dr.. Seuss was born today!

Who has not read the Shenanigans of the Cat in the Hat or Sam-I-am with his green eggs and ham? Mulberry Street? Been there. Implement the zoo? Done. I bet most of you know everything about the Sneetches and the Lorax, right? But what do you know about the man behind the pen?

Theodor Seuss Geisel, the beloved writer and artist was born on March 2, 1904 in Springfield, Massachusetts. While his best pen name was Dr. approved. Seuss, he also wrote under the guise of Theo LeSieg (Geisel backwards, in case you missed it). He began his career as a writer, while in Dartmouth, writing for the Dartmouth Jack-O-Lantern, the college humor magazine. ”Dr. Seuss’ first appeared six months after graduating in the courts.

The Second World War changed his focus to the political arena. As the editorial cartoonist for the left-wing New York newspaper, PM, drew more than 400 cartoons in two years. In 1942 he was making posters for the Ministry of Finance and the War Production Board. Joining the United States Army Air Forces in 1943 he served as commander of the Animation Dept of the First Motion Picture Unit.

After the war, the “doctor” moved to California with the woman. So who is Damian Whitewood? Pine is known for are included in the Broadway dance revue “Burn the Floor” for several years. Fellow cast member DWTS Derek Hough is also a “Burn the Floor” alum. A resident of Australia, Damian spruce up versions of “So You Think You Can Dance” in the Netherlands and Australia.

Pine began dancing at the age of 10 and has several ballroom and Latin dance championships won.

2010 Texas Independence Day commemorates the historic event 174 years ago on March 2, 1836, the day Texas gained its independence from Mexico.

Most are familiar with the Declaration of Independence, but not all know that Texas had its own Declaration of Independence, signed on March 2nd, 1836, declaring his own Texas republic.

Inspired by the Declaration of 1776, the Texas document claimed Mexico had “no longer lives, to protect the liberty and property of the people” and committed “random acts of oppression and tyranny.”

Nine years later, in 1845, Texas became the 28th state of United States.

Texans celebrate today in a variety of ways. The website “Celebrate Texas” includes several events are held for Texas Independence Day 2010.

Today is Primary Day in Texas, with Senator Kay Bailey Hutchinson faced off with Governor Rick Perry Governor of Texas.

Michael Blosil left a suicide note before he leaped from the eighth floor of the building on Friday night, said police Lt. Paul Vernon.

Vernon said he did not have details of the note

“It was fairly obvious this appeared to be a suicide, based upon witness statements,” he said.

Coroner’s officials were investigating the case as a suicide, but an autopsy conducted Sunday did not officially determine the cause of death pending the results of toxicology tests, which could take up to two months, said Los Angeles County Assistant Chief Coroner Ed Winter.

“He fell to his death from a balcony, eight stories,” Winter said, but officials “just want to make sure that he wasn’t drunk or something and walked out of his balcony and fell.”

“Is it an accident or is it a suicide?” Winter asked. “We just want to make sure that there’s nothing that we missed.”

Blosil was a first-year student of apparel manufacturing at the Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising, said college spokeswoman Shirley Wilson. A floral memorial was placed in the school’s rotunda in his honor.

Blosil and other students lived at the Metropolitan apartments on Flower Street, Wilson said.

The complex, known as “The Met,” has a 24-hour doorman and a balcony for every apartment, along with a spa, pool and other luxuries.

Details of Blosil’s death were not immediately released, but Vernon said there was no indication that he had been attending a party or other event where he might have been drinking.

There have been conflicting reports about whether Blosil may have struggled with depression. Vernon said he did not have any information.

“He’s dealing with a lot of issues,” she told CNN’s Larry King at the time. “I don’t feel comfortable talking for him. I think he’ll have to deal with that.”

Osmond did say one of the issues troubling him was the fact that he was adopted.

“He is the most amazing kid …,” she added before beginning to cry.

Osmond herself has struggled with depression over the years, as she disclosed in her 2001 book, “Behind the Smile: My Journey Out of Postpartum Depression.”

Blosil was one of Osmond’s five adopted children. She also has three other children from two marriages. Osmond divorced Brian Blosil in 2007 after two decades of marriage. She and her first husband, Stephen Craig, divorced in 1985.

In a statement after his death, Osmond said she and her family were in shock. Her publicist declined to provide any additional comment from Osmond on Monday.

Osmond earned fame at age 13 with the hit song “Paper Roses,” and starred with her brother, Donny, on television’s “Donny and Marie Show” during the 1970s.

The siblings perform a musical variety show regularly at the Flamingo Las Vegas Hotel and Casino. The hotel said the shows were canceled over the weekend and performances would resume on March 9.
